About
CommuniTree.

CommuniTree is a live music and community arts hub situated in the heart of Nottingham city centre.

CommuniTree in the community…

At CommuniTree, we aim to transport audiences to different worlds through music, dance and other expressive arts. We take great pride in programming performances with the best creative talent and nurturing both new and well-established artists across many genres. Our venue is also home to a number of other community arts organisations in Nottingham, delivering participatory workshops, such as music-making, dance, drama, and visual arts.

CommuniTree is a space for top quality entertainment, showcasing music and creative arts from around the world through artists and groups based locally in The Midlands, nationally in the UK, and internationally! Our newly established CommuniTree Festival, supported by Arts Council England, helped us to welcome into Nottingham’s festival scene - The Dhol Foundation, Sidiki Dembélé Ensemble, Gnawa Blues All Stars, Two Man Ting, and many more exciting artists and groups.

We strive to create a safe and inclusive space, where our audiences and participants are able to express themselves freely. We believe in the positive power of music and the arts, so please join us at CommuniTree to enjoy soul-nourishing live music and performing arts.

CommuniTree is a place for everyone. Through our programme of performances and creative workshops, everyone is invited to get involved and feel a part of our CommuniTree community in Nottingham.

Janet Rose

Having recently received the prestigious Black Achievers Award in Nottingham in 2022 for the Lifetime Community Contributor Award, Janet has been a proud pioneer of participatory creative arts amongst communities for over 40 years. When not introducing artists on our CommuniTree stage, Janet spends time in communities uniting people through dance and creative movement. Janet is also a member of the board for Nottingham-based Take 1 Studio, where alongside her brother, Courtney Rose, the organisation nurtures and supports new creative talent amongst all communities. We look forward to welcoming Take 1 Studio artists into CommuniTree also.

Jude Winwood

Jude is a musician herself and has lived and worked in many different parts of the world, including Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean. She has a particular interest in music from West Africa and gained her Masters Degree in Ethnomusicology from SOAS (University of London) back in 2013.

Jude enjoys discovering new artists and music from around the world and attending music and arts festivals around the country. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to events planning and coordination at CommuniTree.
